Obsession of the Week: Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner for Course Hair

Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner for Course Hair, $35 for 33.8 fl. oz

On March 8, 2017 it will be four years since I did "The Big Chop" and stop relaxing my hair. Since then, I've tried lots of products on my natural hair journey to learn what works on my 4A coily/curly hair.

One thing I learned immediately is my hair loves a cleansing conditioner. Some of you might say I haven't found the "right" shampoo or to give shampoo another chance. But, trust and believe using shampoo has a stripping effect of my hair and then I have the difficult task of trying to rebuild the moisture that was lost.

With that said, whenever I see a cleansing conditioner I'm immediately curious. My favorite cowash for the longest has been Eden Bodywork Coconut CoWash, but as a beauty blogger and self admitted product junkie I'm always looking to see if I can find something I'll like even better.

So when I saw that Matrix Biolage makes a cleansing conditioner and it was sale at Ulta, it kinda was a no brainer: I was definitely going to have to give this product a try.

Ulta sells this cleansing conditioner $35 for 33.8 fl. oz. size. Now until January 28th it's on sale for $19.99 and you can use Ulta's $3.50 coupon for additional savings.

Matrix Biolage Cleansing conditioner is available in four options depending on hair type: Curly, Fine, Medium and Course. It was hard for me to choose between the Course and the Curly, but ultimately I choose the Course Cleansing Conditioner.

According to Ulta's website Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner for Course Hair is describes as:

Soap-free non-stripping formula, cleanse and condition for optimal manageability. No-lather Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner For Coarse Hair with avocado provides thorough cleansing and deep conditioning to restore smoothness and manageability for increased shine and suppleness. Suitable for daily use or in between traditional shampooing. Suitable for color-treated hair. Biolage Cleansing Conditioner is not for baby/ultra fine hair, sparse/thinning hair or oily hair.

  • No-poo

  • No foam

  • No lather

  • Deeply nourishes and controls frizz while smoothing cuticle texture

  • No heavy silicones, harsh salts or parabens

I've been using this cleansing conditioner for two weeks and I absolutely love it. This cleansing conditioner leaves my hair feel soft and hydrated. I can finger detangle my think curly hair with this product and trust me that's a big deal. I've also use this product on my daughter's 3C textured hair and it left her hair clean and hydrated.

I like to make sure my hair is soaking wet and apply like I would a traditional shampoo. Then I allow it to sit on my hair for 5 minutes before rinsing.

My head full of thick and soft healthy coils and curls!!

Out of the four cleansing conditioners, the one for Course hair does contain sulfates. I didn't find the sulfates in this product to be harsh and drying on my hair. I highly recommend checking out this product especially while you can get such a good deal on it at Ulta.

I plan on grabbing the cleansing conditioner for Curly hair while Ulta is still running it's amazing sale.
